My name is Justin Turrin, and I'm a 24 year old from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I am determined and committed to raise funds and awareness to all major children's hospitals in Canada. I will be attempting to travel ten thousand plus kilometers across Canada by swimming, cycling, and running.
When I was little, I witnessed my older brother being admitted to the Montreal Children's Hospital due to hydrocephalus. This is a condition of buildup pressure of cerebrospinal fluid around the brain. As a result to this condition, my brother now at 24 years old has irreversible brain damage. Over the course of his life, he has had nine brain surgeries in order to treat the cerebrospinal fluid that accumulated in his skull.
If my brother, or any other child had the opportunity to have a second chance at a life without any fatal or terminal conditions, they would be able to use their life to the fullest of their abilities. They would be able to do anything, and everything they aspire to fulfill.
I am extremely grateful that I grew up with a healthy, active life, when some children haven't been given a chance at all.
